Fredda Shere-Valenti

Fredda Shere-Valenti was in the ORA organization for 25 years. Upon graduating from high school she had several support positions working for the Consumer Affairs Officer, data processing unit, and the Recall and Emergency Coordinator. She left the government and when she returned in 1980, she served as Chemistry branch secretary, New York Regional Laboratory, reviewing research projects and troubleshooting laboratory databases. In 1985, she arrived in ORA HQ when husband Len was offered a position in CDER's Generic Drugs. Fredda was offered a position as the secretary to the Deputy Director, Office of Regional Operations, developing field compliance programs with Centers and assisting the other divisions' support personnel. Upon returning from maternity leave in 1987, she accepted a position as program assistant, Division of Field Science, publishing the Laboratory Information Bulletin (LIB), maintaining the latex products database, and developing the microbiological chapter for the Laboratory Procedures Manual. In 1989, Fredda accepted a position as a consumer safety technician and then converted to a consumer safety officer in the Division of Import Operations Policy. She served as the pesticide monitor, the assistant to the personal import manager, and latex products and radiological health program coordinator. Fredda transferred in 2002 to CVM and is currently working with BIMO general programs.
