Marie Urban

Marie spent over 32 years with the FDA starting her career at the Bureau of Biologics as a microbiologist. In 1977, she transferred to the Bureau of Veterinary Medicine as a Compliance Officer in the Case Guidance Branch. In 1979, she transferred the Center for Drugs as a Compliance Officer, and returned to the Center for Veterinary Medicine in 1980. As a Compliance Officer she reviewed regulatory/legal actions submitted from ORA's field organization. During this time she worked with USDA to improve communications on tissue residue cases. In 1986, Marie was named as Director of CVM's Case Guidance Branch and was recognized for her initiative and resourcefulness in managing the Branch.

In 1989, she joined ORA's Executive Development Program and in 1990 was named as the Director of the Division of Compliance Management & Operations in the ORA's Office of Enforcement. In 1995, she was named by the ACRA to lead regulatory reform. In 2000 she became Executive Secretariat for the ACRA and retired from FDA joining Baxter Healthcare Corp. Since 1996, she consults on FDA matters. Marie's hobbies include cooking, fitness and jewelry making.
